How house-sitting enables my travel
Travel and house-sitting
I’ve been travelling the world for a very long time now with my Mum, and one thing I really love is when we house-sit, especially the long ones, because it makes me feel like home. We have seen so many places and amazing things. I love to travel.

I love looking after the dogs
When we are housesitting I really love the dogs we care for the most, and my favourite dog was Murphy in Scotland, and he can do amazing tricks, and I would play with him, and take him for long walks down our country lane.

We love housesitting and travel
House-sitting is a great thing because it is free for us, and sometimes people pay us too, and that means we can save money. If you want to, you can go from one place to another doing house-sits, and it is a nice and very different way to travel.
House-sitting is great for everybody – from old people to young people – because the older people can relax and care for the garden and grow vegetables, and things like that. And us younger people, because most of the time the pets are kid-friendly, and so we can run around with the pets and have a fun time, and give them lots of love and hugs.
If you are a workaholic, you can use the Wi-Fi (if they have it) like my Mum did to write her blog for our travel web-site www.exploramum.com, and to catch up, or to do business work, without any distractions.
My favourite house-sit was also Scotland, because it was quiet and it was a really nice house, and the two dogs we cared for were adorable!
I never get bored with house-sitting, because once we have seen enough of an area, we just pack up and move on to the next one.

I also get to catch up on my schoolwork when we house-sit. That isn’t always so exciting.
When we house-sit we have time to make crafts. In Ireland we would take the dog down the beach for a long walk every day. When we were there we collected driftwood and other things washed up on the shore. Near the end of our stay we had an amazing collection, and so we made picture frames. It is a pity we didn’t realize how good they would turn out, because a local shopkeeper asked us if she could buy a whole heap of the frames we made for her to sell in her home-wares shop, but we were leaving. Maybe we can do that at another house-sit, because they were so much fun to do.
House-sitting is also a great way to relax. In cold countries it can be nice and warm with the fire going, and in hot countries if there is a beach or river, we go for long walks with the dog.
So all in all, housesitting is a great way to travel and see the world, and I would highly recommend it. I love it, and I bet you would too.
