Sometimes having pets means you need to refresh your interiors on a regular basis

Having a cosy home is all well and good, but if you are looking to upgrade your home in the modern market, you have to find cheap methods, but also turn it into something that is pretty attractive. And it seems that upgrading your home for cheap is not always the easiest thing to do, but if you are looking to reinvigorate any living space, it’s always about those simple things. Let’s show you some approaches.

Reinvigorate Your Couch

One of the hallmarks of a cosy home is that big, chunky, comforting couch, and if it’s starting to look tired and sagging, there are simple things we can do to the couch. You can add new cushions, put throws on it, but if the couch feels limp and lifeless, you can get the couch reupholstered, or change the seat pads. You can get some foam cut to size and instantly lift the look of a shabby couch.

New Outlet Plates

Outlet plates are a very small detail in a room. But changing them can be a great way of renovating dull interiors. Moreover, it is not one we usually think about, yet we touch our plug sockets all the time. They get dull and can be really dirty. And they are really cheap to replace, but if you want to make them look more luxurious, you could paint the plates the same colour as your wall. This means that they will disappear more into the space, and won’t look half as grubby!

Change Your Cabinet Handles

This is a great way to make your kitchen look completely different. If you want to add a luxurious air to the space, you could upgrade your faucets and cabinet handles to chrome, nickel, or brass and you can mix and match different metals to make the space look visually more appealing.

Paint the Tiles

If your kitchen or bathroom floor looks grubby, you can paint the tiles so they look fresh and clean. It’s a lot of work to lift those tiles back out, and this is the cheapest, but most effective option. It’s amazing what a lick of paint can do!

Update Your Lighting

Another simple thing that can upgrade your home. Upgrading your lighting in the rooms will make the space feel different. You can play with an abundance of lighting tricks. For example, installing a large mirror in a dark hallway and adding shiny fixtures can help the light reflect, immediately brightening up the space. You can always upgrade the lighting fixtures in every room with a dimmer switch, allowing you to control the light. It’s a great way to make the space feel completely different.

Get Rid of the Eyesores

If you walk past the same part of the home and it causes you frustration, you’ve got to hide those things. For example, if you have a thermostat on a blank wall, can you cover this up with a canvas portrait?

Final thoughts on renovating dull interiors

Upgrading your home and renovating dull interiors doesn’t have to be expensive, and in fact, can benefit from a few licks of paint, but it’s also about making sure that you are happy with the results. A change does everybody good!
