The Mad House
14 – 26 February 2024 Petsit in the Dordogne FRANCE
I live just outside of a characterful Bastide Town called Eymet which is only 20 minutes from Bergerac Airport. Our Commune is very small just 25 houses and is situated up a steep hill. It is only 3 Kilometers from Eymet but due to the hill is not walkable unless you are very fit. You do need a car in order to go to the shops etc.
Places to visit include lots of wineries, several historic bastide towns in our locale. I can provide a list of suggestions for you on arrival.
Our house is an old barn that was converted a number of years ago and dates from the 17th Century. The house is cosy, we have central heating and log burners in the kitchen and sitting room.
I have three dogs, Molly who is 12 and a Tibetan Terrier. Babette who is 8 and is a rescue dog from Spain and finally Millie who is 4 and also a Spanish rescue dog. We had thought our family complete until a couple of years ago when we were adopted by what is now our cat. She arrived one night and Marie (my wife) fed her tuna so she never left. I was widowed last year. When we had the cat checked by our local vet we discovered that she was not chipped so after various enquires to find an owner which were unsuccessful she adopted us permanently.
The garden is not huge but sufficient so we can all enjoy it. We have a pool which is unheated, however, by the end of June if the weather is good the temp is up to 84 degrees.
Our facilities include wifi, satellie TV and a Sky box.
