Description

We are an American and South African couple, living as expats in the South of France with our two adorable pups.

About us:
I’m an Energy Healer from the US, having lived in California, New York City, and Colorado. My boyfriend Dan is a software engineer from South Africa who owns his own business, and previously lived in London. After meeting and falling in love in the South of France, we decided to move together to Aix-en-Provence, and have been living here since the beginning of February.

Our dogs:
Spud is a 8 year old Frenchie weighing 16kg. He loves to be a lap dog, go to the park, and take a dip in one of the many fountains around town on a hot day. He’s had two previous back surgeries, so he does need occasional help getting up and down stairs, as his back legs are a but weak

Riley is a 5 year old Morkie weighing 5kg. She is very playful and energetic, and loves to give kisses and snuggle.

Both dogs are very sweet, and well known at the nearby gelato shop (the best gelato in town!), where we regularly take them for weekly “pup cups”

Routine:
We typically get up with the dogs around 8am, feed them and go for a 10-15 minute walk so they can do their business. Their next scheduled walk is after they eat again at 5:30 for 15-20 minutes. In the summer when the weather is hot, we’ll usually push this to 6:30/7pm and keep is a bit shorter, with a quick pee outing midafternoon. They go out one more time before bed, usually around 10:30pm (can be a bit later or early), for a quick pee or short walk. On a hot day we’ll usually make this their long walk, especially if we kept the evening walk short.

About Aix-en-Provence:
Aix is a beautiful and lively city located in the heart of Provence, 30 minutes north of Marseille. It’s known for its stunning architecture, and colorful markets, as well as the rosé; often referred to as the “City of a Thousand Fountains” due to the numerous fountains located throughout the city. The city is home to numerous art galleries and museums, amazing restaurants, and hosts several cultural festivals throughout the year. It’s surrounded by beautiful countryside, hiking spots, vineyards, and the famous lavender fields.
