Description

Do you love cats and the English countryside? Then please consider this housesit assignment.

OUR PETS

We have 4 wonderful cats, all friendly. We call them the boys! All are healthy and active.
They are an absolute delight and are extremely affectionate and people orientated. They love company and Monty, the youngest, loves nothing more than to sit on your shoulders as you walk around the house.

OUR HOME

The house itself has a sizeable garden, 4 bedrooms, 2 sitting rooms and dining room and is heated by an air source heat pump, in addition to open fireplaces, a log burner and a Rayburn. So the house will be warm and cosy. We have very helpful neighbours who are always happy to help and who will make you feel at home whilst we’re away.

OUR LOCATION

We live in a country village called Thrumpton, which close to Nottingham and to the local railway station and airport. There’s plenty to do in the area and plenty of lovely walks by the nearby river and through Thrumpton country estate. There is a really good local pub, which you can visit on foot. However, a car is important to reach more practical amenities and shops.

LOCAL POINTS OF INTEREST –

– Local pubs –
There is a nice gastro pub nearby called The Star in Leake (only 4 miles and 8 min by car). And our village hall is open on Friday nights for drinks and to meet the locals, that’s easy to reach on foot.

– Country estates –
Also a good place for a country walk is Calke Abbey now a National Trust property. Only 30 min by car it offers wonderful country walks.

Also worth a visit is Chatsworth House (grand estate in Derbyshire) which is an hour away by car, and opens again for visits to the property on 18 March. Well worth the trip.

– Restaurants –
There is a good Chinese take away that delivers to Thrumpton in Kegworth
Also in Kegworth is a good Indian restaurant called Jee Ja Jee’s

– Access to Nottingham –

It is easy to drive into the city but you can also take the tram from Clifton South Park (only 4 min drive form our house). That saves you the hassle of driving into the city and parking there. Once in the city centre you have access to all the amenities – cinema, theatre, museums, restaurants, and shopping.

KEEPING IN CONTACT –

Whilst we are away we are happy to be contacted and will do our best to offer any help that is needed. Our neighbours may be able to help if you need it at times when our time zones make it difficult. We’ll introduce you to our lovely neighbours.
