Description

We are looking for a responsible person/people to look after our beagle (Aggy) and our two, large cats (Muzzy and Rose..both males). We live in leafy Muswell Hill in a first floor flat, so you need to be able to climb stairs. We also have steep stairs leading down to the garden. There is a family of three that lives in the flat below, so it is important that our housesitter(s) are quiet and respectful.

Muswell Hill doesn’t have a tube station, but we have plenty of buses, which can get you to nearby Highgate or East Finchley stations, both of which are on the Northern Line and go into Central London. There are many green spaces and ancient woods within walking distance around and we are also not far from beautiful Hampstead Heath. Muswell Hill is a safe, family area and we have enjoyed living here for six years.

Property Type: Apartment / Flat / Unit
Responsibilities: Aggy needs to have at least an hour of walking a day and also lots of attention. She is a typical beagle, so she takes advantage of any chance to steal food, but she is atypical in that she doesn't run off, so she can walk off lead in a safe area. She can be left at home for up to four hours, but needs to be crated. She's happy to go into her crate for a chewy or treat and just needs you to make a bit of a fuss over her when she is let out, so that she doesn't take revenge by 'beagling' you (pulling the rubbish out and spreading it all over or chewing something is her usual tactic). As long as she is getting enough attention, she's good as gold! The cats are cats--demanding food and sleeping a lot. We have a dog/cat flap, so they can come and go as they please, although Rose also has a litter box that he uses. All pets are fed in the morning and the cats are fed again in the evening. Rose is on a special urinary tract/low calorie diet because of a history with crystals in his urinary tract, and is very aware that his food is inferior to Muzzy's so he has to be watched so that he doesn't 'double dip' during meal times. No other major responsibilities besides generally looking after the flat and keeping things tidy, cleaning out litter, watering the house plants and picking poop up in the garden as needed.
Points of interest: Supermarket, Fresh Food / Farmers Market, Public Transport, Cafes & Restaurants, Cinema, Historical Interest, Gym, Public Swimming Pools, Pubs, Hiking Trails
Things to know: No smoking in the house, please! If you do smoke, please dispose of your cigarette butts responsibly before we get home.
