Description

I’m from England, but I currently live in Beijing and work as a French teacher at an international school. I’m lucky enough to get 1 week off for Spring Break (30 th March to 8th April 2018) and I need someone to look after my lovely cat, Winston, while I attend my friend’s wedding in Taiwan. I live in the embassy district, so all of the Western comforts are available on your doorstep, but in a central location to enjoy the best of Beijing. Spring is the best time to visit Beijing – the weather is perfect! It’s warm, sunny, breezy and blue skies! You’ll need to feed Winston and shower him with love and cuddles – he’s very friendly! I live 5 minutes from ‘That’s Mandarin’ language school, so you could combine your housesit with a mandarin language course.

Property Type: Apartment / Flat / Unit
Responsibilities: Feed Winston, empty litter tray, clean his ears and teeth (two or three times a week), brush him (once a day). Light housework to ensure the apartment is clean for my return.
Points of interest: Flea Market, Public Transport, Cafes & Restaurants, Cinema, Theatre, Historical Interest, Gym, Public Swimming Pools, Pubs, Bars, Nightclubs
Things to know: Beijing gets a bad reputation for the air quality, but don't believe everything you hear in Western media! You might want to bring a mask for the 'bad days' (about once a week) but the rest of the time it is not smoggy. It is very dry, it almost never rains. Beijing is a very modern city with lot's going on and plenty of Western conveniences and access to things in English, so don't worry if you don't speak Chinese! I highly recommend that you download the app WeChat (like WhatsApp) and then I can share lots of contacts with you who can help you out while you are in Beijing.
