Laundry Cottage is a single story home, located on the Minto estate & as the name suggests was originally the laundry for the estate. It is located down a private road with very little traffic. We are surrounded by countryside with walks from the door. Friendly neighbours who live in the other old estate buildings. Minto hamlet is located half a mile down the road. The village of Denholm is about 2 miles away where you can find 2 pubs. The Cross Keys Inn does good food. There is a post office/shop & a couple of cafes one with an antique shop with more walks from Denholm. We are on the edge of Minto golf club which has a club house serving food & drink. The town of Hawick is a 15 minute drive away & has supermarkets & a high street with local shops. Jedburgh is a similar distance, it has some interesting historic buildings including an Abbey. Edinburgh is just over a hours drive away but there is a park & ride or a train from Galashiels 30 minutes drive. There is also a family run cinema in Galashiels. There are many historic towns across the borders, with easy access to Norththumberland coast & countryside. Lindisfarne can be easily visited on a day trip. The Cheviot hills are nearby with numerous walks. The coast is about an hours drive away, this includes St. Abbs which is good for seeing the seal pups in November & sometimes dolphins.
